What is it that turns you on to a candidate? It could be that you enjoy “slick” commercials on television. You may prefer quick “sound bites” on the radio. Then again your preference may be the fact that they are a current office holder? You might ask yourself how you originally decided to pick that one person from all the others.
Candidates want your vote and use many ways to get your attention, the most obvious being advertising. The ads are there to persuade you, to make you believe the answer to your problems is to vote them into office.
So what is the best way to determine which candidate gets your vote? The answer is research. You have to spend as much time checking out candidates as you do shopping for a computer. You need to know as much about a candidate as you can find on ingredients in a box of cereal.
The problem is that candidates don't advertise nearly as much as computer companies nor do they have convenient labels on their shirt collars like cereal boxes. You won't see a list of improvements and enhancements to candidates. You may think that they have more time on television and more coverage in the paper than computer companies but they don't give price guarantees for next sixty minutes.
