City of Victoria

Council members from single member districts 1, 2, 3, and 4 are up for election in 2003. Terms are for three years.

Current representatives of the districts are:

1. Philip Guitard
2. Louis Nietsch
3. Bill Russell
4. Shirley Burkert

Filing for a place on the ballot is made at the City Secretary's Office. Filing begins on February 17, 2003 and ends on Wednesday, March 19, 2003. 

Information packets on running for city council may be picked up at the City Secretary's Office in City Hall. You must be a resident of the city and the councilmember district to apply for a place on the ballot.

• District 1 is comprised of election precincts: 1, 2, 3, 8, 34, & 35.
• District 2 is comprised of election precincts: 4, 5, 7, & 32.
• District 3 is comprised of election precincts: 9, 21, 25, & 33.
• District 4 is comprised of election precincts: 6, 10, 17, 19, 29, & 30.

The following candidates have filed for a place on the ballot for city council positions.

District 3 - Bill Russell

District 4 - Shirley Buckert

No write-in candidates filed as of 5 pm, Monday, March 24, 2003. City Council at its April 1, 2003 meeting canceled the election and declared the unopposed candidates elected to office. These candidates will be sworn-in during a May meeting of the City Council.
