The Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, March 7, 2006. The Victoria County Democratic and Republican Parties will conduct the primary as a joint election with the Victoria County Elections Administrator contracting to provide election services.

The last day to file an application for a place on the ballot was Monday, January 2, 2006 at 6 pm.

The first day to submit an application to vote by mail for the primary election is Friday, January 6, 2006.
The last day to register to vote in the primary election is Monday, February 6, 2006.
Early voting in person begins Tuesday, February 21, 2006 and ends Friday, March 3, 2006. The Elections Office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. weekdays and on Saturday, February 25th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Additional hours have been ordered for Thursday, March 2, 2006 and Friday, March 3, 2006 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The last day to submit an application to vote by mail is Tuesday, February 28, 2006. After the start of Early Voting in Person all applications to vote by mail must be submitted through the postal service or by common carrier. Click here for more information on early voting by mail.

On Friday, January 27, 2006 the Texas Supreme Court ordered the addition of two candidates to the Republican Primary ballot.
All candidates for elected office must have on file with the Elections Administrator's Office a Campaign Treasurer Appointment. Periodic campaign finance reports must also be filed.
