Project Overview
Victoria County Commissioner Jason Ohrt and the Victoria County Engineering Department are leading a major initiative to improve Northside Road (Precinct 2) through an interlocal agreement with the City of Victoria. This partnership allows both entities to share resources and complete a full reconstruction of 1.77 miles of roadway.

Victoria County contribution: $460,952.82 to fund 1.50 miles within county limits

What Residents Can Expect

Aug. 25–28, 2025: Crews will complete culvert pipe replacement and drainage improvements.

Sept. 2, 2025: Point repairs on Northside Road began in preparation for reconstruction.

Sept. 8, 2025: Full reconstruction work begins under a contract with Clark Construction in partnership with the City of Victoria Public Works and Engineering Department.

Completion: Work is expected to take 90 days from the start date, weather permitting. Minor striping and cleanup will follow.
Project Phases
At the Wellspring Blvd./Bambi Dr. intersection, construction will be completed in half-widths to keep the intersection open for through traffic during both phases.
Traffic Impacts

The road will be reconstructed from Navarro Street to Parsons Road this month.

Temporary closures to through traffic will be necessary, though the project is phased to reduce disruptions.

All homes and businesses in the project area will remain open and accessible.

Crews will be on site to direct traffic in the work zone.

Motorists are urged to use caution, follow barricades, and obey crew instructions.

Collaborative Partnership
This project is made possible through an interlocal agreement between Victoria County and the City of Victoria, allowing the entire Northside Road reconstruction to be completed under one contractor. Each entity is funding its portion of the roadway to deliver a coordinated, cost-effective improvement for the community.
