The Victoria County Fire Marshal’s Office is the law enforcement agency responsible for fire and arson investigations, fire inspections, and life-safety and fire code enforcement within Victoria County.
The County Fire Marshal is a Certified Fire and Arson Investigator, Certified Fire Inspector, and a licensed Peace Officer with the State of Texas.
Our office investigates suspicious fires, conducts life-safety inspections of commercial occupancies, and enforces applicable fire and life-safety codes in the unincorporated areas of Victoria County. We also investigate citizen complaints related to fire hazards and life-safety concerns.
The Fire Marshal’s Office provides ongoing support to all 11 Volunteer Fire Departments throughout Victoria County and works collaboratively with local, state, and regional emergency service agencies to promote coordinated and effective public safety operations.
In 2025, the Victoria County Fire Marshal’s Office became a standalone department, separate from fire suppression operations that previously operated under a merged structure. While operating independently, the Fire Marshal’s Office continues to support county volunteer fire departments through investigations, inspections, training, fire prevention programs, and countywide emergency coordination.
The office is staffed by:
The former Victoria County Fire Department, originally established in 2009 through the merger of the Victoria Regional Airport Fire Department and the Telferner Volunteer Fire Department, no longer exists in its previous form. As of 2025, the Airport Fire Department has returned to the operational control of the Victoria Regional Airport, and the volunteer fire departments now operate independently with support from the Fire Marshal’s Office as appropriate.
The Victoria County Fire Marshal’s Office remains committed to professional service, strong partnerships, and a unified approach to protecting life and property across Victoria County.
