On Friday, October 3, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., the railroad crossing on Highway 185 South in Bloomington will be temporarily closed to allow for repairs.

The closure will take place nightly from October 3 through October 5, with work scheduled during evening and overnight hours to minimize traffic impacts. Each night, the crossing will close at 7:00 p.m. and reopen the following morning at 5:00 a.m. The final reopening will occur at 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025.

The work will include necessary repairs and the addition of concrete cinderblocks to the rail crossing to improve long-term safety and durability.

Motorists are encouraged to plan alternate routes during the closure period and use caution in the area.
